TechAmerica Honors Reid Hoffman, Michael Fertik and Tarkan Maner

Menlo Park, CA – TechAmerica bestowed the 54th annual David Packard Medal of Achievement on Reid Hoffman last night during a dinner at the Sharon Heights Golf & Country Club in Menlo Park, CA. The partner at Greylock Partners and LinkedIn co-founder was honored for his significant contributions to the advancement of the high-tech industry and for distinguished service to the community, the industry and humankind.

The Innovator Awards were also handed out last night. Michael Fertik , Founder and CEO of ReputationDefender was  honored as Entrepreneur of the Year and Tarkan Maner, Vice President and General Manager, Cloud Client Computing at Dell, was honored with the Community Service Innovator Award. TriQuint Semiconductor was honored with the Corporate Wellness Award.

“The impact of the technology community becomes apparent when you gather all of these talented people in one room to celebrate not only business success but a conscience effort to better the community around us,” said Shawn Osborne, President & CEO of TechAmerica. “The people that were recognized are a true testament to the heart of the tech industry and TechAmerica is honored to represent this community.”

Since 1959, the event has featured TechAmerica’s highest award, the David Packard Medal of Achievement, to honor significant lifetime contributors and pioneers of the high-tech industry. The Innovator Awards were added in the last few years to recognize additional contributions to the community.

The Entrepreneur of the Year Award highlights the individual who embodies the entrepreneurial spirit that has made the U.S. technology community the global leader. The Community Service Innovator Award highlights the efforts of an individual in the technology community who not only furthers the business side of the industry but continues the legacy of investing in the community. The Corporate Wellness Award recognizes companies that prioritize the health of their employees.
