The definition of online identity management is two processes make up Online Identity Management: 1. Creation of a distinct profile or presence on the Internet. 2. Improvement of the quality of that presence. One’s reputation on the Internet is reflected in the sum the links that appear and are associated with an individual, when that individual’s name is searched. Those links can include: personal or professional websites, weblogs, public profiles, news articles, pictures and videos. Management of those links involves development, direction, supervision, and improvement of their quality and where they appear in the search results.
