Internet Anonymity

The definition of Internet anonymity is a person's ability to act without identifying him or herself due to the shield of the Internet. Because there is no face-to-face interaction on the Internet, people are able to take actions and make statements without the fear of identifying his or her self. This can be a positive phenomenon, but it also allows people to act in ways that they would not normally because of fear of repercussions. Internet anonymity is also commonly referred to as online anonymity.
