Black List


The definition of black list refers to when a search engine lowers the ranking of a website due to its apparent attempt to manipulate search results. Link farms are black listed as soon as they are discovered and other websites occasionally fall into this category if the indexing spiders deem them to be eligible. Sites that are black listed do not offer link strength on outgoing links and are significantly harder to find using search engines.
